What a writing sprint is for
A sprint is a short block with one rule: keep the hands moving until it ends. You are not drafting the final thing. You are getting past the empty page, which is the part that costs the most.
Fifteen or twenty-five minutes works for most people. Long enough to warm up, short enough that starting is not a decision. Set the number you will hit, not the one you wish you could. A finished small sprint beats an abandoned long one.
The calculator does the other half: a word count and a date become a number for today, which is easier to face than the whole book.
Both tools run on this page. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is saved, so closing the tab clears them.
Longer pages, one search each, live under writing pages. The sprint timer and the calculator are linked from there.
