Writing sprint timer
A free countdown for a writing sprint. Pick a length, press start, and write until it reaches zero. Nothing is saved.
Sprint
25:00
Ready. 25 minutes.
Any whole number from 1 to 180. This page does not lock longer sprints.
How to use it for a writing sprint
- Choose 10, 15, 25, or 50 minutes, or type your own length.
- Press start. Write until the clock hits zero. Pause if you have to leave the sentence.
- When it ends, note how many words you got, then run another sprint or stop.
A refresh clears the clock. This page keeps the sprint only while the tab is open. It does not store your writing.
Lengths that suit a sprint
Ten and fifteen minutes are short enough to start when a blank page is the problem. Twenty-five minutes is one Pomodoro. Fifty minutes is a long block if you already know the scene.
Inka's own timer, inside the writing room, uses the same idea and adds a room and ambient sound. There, blocks up to 25 minutes and an open-ended timer are free. Anything over 25 minutes, including the 50-minute preset, is Pro. This page is only the clock, so every length here is free.
Questions
- Is the writing sprint timer free?
- Yes. No payment, and nothing is saved.
- Does it save my writing?
- No. It is a clock. Your draft stays in whatever document you already have open.
- Will it chime if the tab is in the background?
- It keeps counting, and it chimes when it hits zero if the chime is on and the browser allows it. Some browsers delay timers in background tabs.
- Where is the room and the rain?
- In Inka. This page is the sprint by itself.

Inka is a free writing room in the browser: a page, a room, mixable sound, and a timer. Nothing in it writes for you.
