The Inka writing app is free to write in
You can write in the Inka writing app for free. Rooms, sounds, and the timer are there from the first visit. Free does not expire. Pro adds the rest of the rooms and sounds, longer timers, unlimited pieces, and a word target on one piece.

What stays free
Writing, saving, and a copy of each piece for each of the last seven days you wrote. Sign-in and sync, if you want them. Export: copy, .txt, .docx, and Google Docs. Legible mode. Today's journal, which counts as one of your pieces. Six of 30 rooms. Eight of 19 sounds, mixed, each with its own volume. Key sounds Off or Cream. A timer from 5 to 25 minutes, or an open-ended timer that counts up. Three pieces. Stats for the last 7 days. Spotify in the page, if you are logged in to Spotify in that browser.
What Pro adds, in plain numbers
All 30 rooms. All 19 sounds. The CherryMX, Typewriter, and Panda key sounds. A timer from 26 minutes up to 3 hours, including the 50-minute preset. Unlimited pieces. A word target for a single piece, the kind you set for an essay or a chapter. Stats history past 7 days: four weeks by day and twelve months by month. Your own background from an image or a YouTube link.
The price is $7 a month, $49 a year, or $99 once. Monthly and yearly renew until you cancel, from Account. Lifetime is one payment. There is no trial, because the free app does not run out.
If you stop Pro, the pieces you already wrote stay. You can keep writing in them and you can export them. You cannot start a fourth piece until Pro is on again.
When free is enough
Free is enough for a journal, a single essay, and a daily word goal. The goal defaults to 500 words and draws a thin line along the bottom edge. It is not a Pro feature.
Free gets tight if you keep a novel in many separate chapter files, because the fourth piece is locked, or if you want the café sound, a 50-minute block, or a room that is not one of the six. Those are the reasons to look at Pro, not a countdown on the free app.
