Cozy writing app: the Inka writing app, with rain and a fire
The Inka writing app lets you put a room behind the page: rain on the glass, or a fire, or both. Cozy Rain Room and the Fireside sound are free. Most of the other rain rooms are Pro.

What is cozy and free
Cozy Rain Room is one of the ten free rooms, and it sits first in the room list. Soft Rain and Heavy Rain are free sounds. Fireside is free too. Each sound has its own volume, so you can keep the fire quiet under the rain instead of picking one and losing the other.
The page is in the same window as the room. You are not watching a video in one tab and writing in another.
Which rain rooms are Pro
Silent Rain City, Cozy Lofi Rain, and Glasshouse Rain are Pro. So is Thunderstorm, the sound with thunder in it. Corner Café, the coffee-shop bed, is Pro as well. If a locked room is tapped, the upgrade sheet opens and the room does not change.
Pro is $7 a month, $49 a year, or $99 once. You do not need it to write, or to use Cozy Rain Room, Soft Rain, Heavy Rain, and Fireside.
How to set a cozy hour
- Choose Cozy Rain Room.
- Open Sound and turn on Soft Rain. Add Fireside if you want it, and pull its slider down until it sits under the rain.
- Set a 25-minute block if you want a stop. That length is free. Anything over 25 minutes is Pro.
- Write. The room brightens while you keep going and eases off when you stall.
If a moving background is too much, the same sounds work in Ink Room, which does not move.
